The family lived in Tippecanoe, Lake, LaPorte, and Newton counties in Indiana. Clara left Michigan City after 1944. At the time of her death, she lived next door to her daughter Barbara. Joseph’s whereabouts after 1927 are unknown. Clara was granted a legal separation from Joseph on 3 April 1926 in LaPorte County. The divorce was granted 18 January 1927 in the same county. She was called Alice, her middle name, until after the divorce, when she began using Clara.

Solomon and his second wife, Elizabeth, moved to Mentone, Kosciusko County, Indiana, in 1839, locating two miles south of Mentone. Solomon was a prosperous farmer. In 1848 he registered his stock mark as follows: a swallow fork in the left ear and under bit in the same, a crop and under bit in the right ear.

Three years after Elizabeth’s death in 1841, Solomon married Sarah McCombs and after the tax assessment of 1864, they moved on to Cedar County, Iowa.

The family came to Union Co., IN during the early 1830s. They moved to Hamilton Co., IN when Milton’s father received a land grant by 1840. Milton eventually moved to Cass Co., MO by the late 1860s and then settled in Labette Co., KS by the 1870s. Milton began as a farmer, the same as his parents. By the time he settled in Mound Valley, Labette County, KS, he had held several jobs which included merchant, postmaster, hotel clerk and gardener.

John Guffy Puntenney lived in Wabash Township, Parke Co., Indiana all his life. He was the son of Aquilla and Elenor (Headley) Puntenney, who migrated from Ohio to Indiana in 1818. Aquilla acquired several acres in Wabash Township through a land bounty grant which he received for his service in the War of 1812. As a young man, John ran a general store in Armiesburg, Indiana but soon returned to his family farm where spent the rest of his life as a farmer. John and his wife, Margaret, had two daughters, Ethel and Minnie. John was known among his friends and neighbors as honest, quiet, and unassuming. He was a Republican who supported Prohibition, and was a member of the Methodist Church.

Olive was the second wife of Robert Bruce Bascom. She was born in Ohio County, Indiana to Isaac C. Bovard and Ursula Shepherd. Olive lived in Ohio County all of her life and had nine children with Robert.

Robert Bruce Bascom was born in Switzerland County, Indiana in 1839 to Carley H. Bascom and Elizabeth Potter. He enlisted as a musician in the company band of the 16th Indiana Infantry. He mustered out on 23 May 1862 in Washington, D.C.

He first married Margaret Littlefield on 1 Mar 1863 in Switzerland County. Margaret died on 15 May 1866. They had one child, Edward H. Bascom. On 4 November 1866, Robert married Olive Bovard in Ohio County, Indiana. Olive was born in 1847 and was the daughter of Isaac C. Bovard and Ursula Shepherd. Robert and Olive had nine children and lived in Ohio County where Robert worked as a farmer and dry goods merchant.

Robert died on 10 Mar 1907 in Ohio County. Olive died many years later, in 1926, also in Ohio County. They were buried in Littlefield Cemetery in Switzerland County, Indiana, along with their daughter, Jessie Florence Bascom.
