Children with Anna Cornelia Robinson:

William worked in his father’s cap and boot store in Madison, Indiana, and served as a sergeant in the Indiana cavalry during the Civil War. In 1878 he moved to Taylorsville, Williamson County, Texas, to raise sheep. He left Texas in the 1880’s to dig silver in Colorado and California. His death date and place are unknown.

Lewis emigrated from Fountain County, Indiana, in 1859 to Buchanan Township, Page County, Iowa. Lewis’ son, George, was seven days old when Susannah died.

Lewis was small in stature, quick, active and strong. At almost 70, he journeyed west by covered wagon to Thomas County, Kansas, hoping to grow wheat extensively. Drought and grasshoppers took his crops seven out of ten years. He didn’t make enough money from his crops to pay for the seed. The strain was too much for him, and he died of heart failure in 1897.

George resided at Clay City, Terre Haute, and Indianapolis, Indiana, and immigrated in 1945 to Los Angeles, California.

The Reverand Dr. Snyder was an ordained minister in the United Brethren Church, which later became the Evangelical United Brethren. He served Indiana congregations from 1919 to 1945 and then transferred to the California Conference, where he served until his death.

Jane, her husband Charles, and some of their children are buried in Llwellyn Cemetery near Kirksville, Adair County, Missouri. Although Jane’s tombstone reads Jane E. and she was known as Jane, the 1880 Missouri census lists her as Elizabeth J. Her letters home to her widowed mother’s Hendricks County, Indiana, residence, related many of the facts concerning Jane and her family. These letters are in the possession of the contributor.
