Alva was born and raised in Indian Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana. In 1893, he and his first wife, Edith E. Johnston, rode his horse to Bedford, Indiana to get married. He and Edith began their life together in Indian Creek Township. Years later, after Edith had died and he had remarried to Lurie Stipp, he purchased a farm in Pleasant Run Township in Lawrence County, Indiana. That farm was eventually sold and Alva moved to Bloomington, Indiana where he died in 1959.

Lester grew up in Indian Creek twp, Monroe Co., Indiana and in 1939 he purchased a farm and resided there until 1976 when he moved to Bloomington. His obituary names four brothers at the time of his death, Merle Moore, of Kentucky, Melvin Moore of Martinsville, Marvin of Richmond, and Otis C. Moore of Bloomington. The obituary also named four sisters who all lived in Bloomington, Sylvia Linthicum, Vada May, Mary Hardin and Erva Hoy and Lillian Quackenbush of Lyons.

Clarence was born in Clear Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana. After marriage, he and his family continued to live in Clear Creek Township until 1947 when they purchased a small farm in Indian Creek Township. He spent most of his life working in the limestone industry and retired as a foreman for Woolery Stone Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the Corps of Engineers in Europe. He died in 1989, in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana, and is buried there.

Logan left Indiana (the only one of his siblings to leave the Hoosier state) sometime between 1880 and 1890. He married in Jackson County, Kansas, in 1890, and his children were born there, but by 1900, they were in Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois, where he worked for the railroad. After his wife died in Blaine County, Oklahoma, in 1909, he returned to Jackson County, Kansas with his youngest son and moved in with a relative.

Family tradition said Logan had to leave Indiana because of a fight while playing cards. In a photo, his right arm appears to be damaged or paralyzed.

Emaline and Evaline were twins. Mahlon, Henry Johnson “John”, Timothy, and Emaline are all buried in Barton County, Kansas.
