By the 1880 census, John, his second wife Sarah, their son Dee, and John’s son William were in Montague County, Texas, where John operated a saloon in Spanish Fort, Texas. John, Sarah, and Dee left Nocona, Texas after 1900 for Manitou, Oklahoma, where John operated a café. John and Lucinda’s sons, George, William, and Noah all stayed in Daviess County, Indiana, near Elnora, Indiana.
