Julius moved to Wichita, Kansas, about 1884. He was elected the first county attorney of Wichita County, Kansas, in 1887. Julius moved first to Missouri briefly, and then, in the fall of 1892, he homesteaded 80 acres in Lincoln County, Oklahoma, where he was elected county attorney in 1898 and county judge in 1924. After Hester’s death, Julius married Ida Hurst, a widow, and moved to Leflore County.

Saphronia (Carpenter) Allison was Mary Delanzo Carpenter’s sister.

Thomas Murphy served in Company G, 145th Indiana Regiment, during the Civil War. He and his second wife Mary Delanzo (Carpenter) Murphy emigrated from Jennings County, Indiana, to Grant Township, Riley County, Kansas, in 1865. Mary and Saphronia were sisters. Thomas Jefferson Murphy claimed 21 children.

The family left Bartholomew County, Indiana, about 1890 for Donaldson Creek Valley, Trigg
County, Kentucky. They left Kentucky for Ashland City, Cheatham County, Tennessee, about 1899. Next, the family moved to Holcomb/White Oak, Missouri, in 1904.

James and Betty both died in May 1906 of pneumonia caused by being in the river after their ferry caught fire. They left six young children. The oldest four girls, all of whom were born in Indiana, had married and stayed in Tennessee.

Prior to her marriage, Lydia Ann is said to have lived in an orphanage.

According to his Civil War records, Andrew and Lydia were married by Samuel K. Ross at Cincinnati, but the records were destroyed when a courthouse burned. Andrew was an octoroon whose grandfather, according to census records, was a “free mulatto”.

Andrew J. Murphy enlisted in the Union Army at Indianapolis on 18 August 1864 and served in a colored unit. After discharge he settled in Fairland Township, Shelby County, Indiana. In 1880 he emigrated with his family from Hymera, Sullivan County, Indiana, to Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas.

John and Mary E. Mullendore emigrated from Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana, to Howard, Elk County, Kansas, in 1882.

John’s sons, Erd and David Mullendore, took part in the third Oklahoma land rush. Erd became an oilman, banker, and rancher, owning the famous Cross-Bell Ranch. David returned to Elk County, Kansas, where he served two terms in the Kansas legislature and became president of Production Credit Corporation.

John’s other sons also became prominent businessmen. Otto established a bank and owned a department store in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Ray became a banker first in Osage and later at Hominy, Oklahoma, where his brother Carl also was a banker. William Clinton served in the Food Relief Administration during World War I and as secretary to then Secretary of Commerce Herbert Hoover. Later William Clinton, an attorney, became president and CEO of Southern California Edison Company.
