Lenoir came to Greene County, Indiana, before 1828. They left the state from Terre Haute, Vigo County, in 1837. They were in Benton County, Missouri, in 1842, where a son died and a daughter was born. They then took the Oregon Trail to Oregon, where Mr. Reeves, John, and Sarah lived until their deaths.

Henry lived and was educated in Ligonier, Indiana until his emigration in 1892, taking a position with the Diamond Machinery Co. in 1893-94. He retired in 1947 after having worked with various machinery companies in the area.

Henry served as treasurer of the First Congregational Church in Western Springs for many years. He also served the village of Western Springs as Treasurer and Collector, as a trustee, and as President. He was awarded the Silver Beaver for his work with the West Suburban Council of the Boy Scouts. At the time of his death, he was vice president of the Western Springs Building & Loan Association.

Louis was a fireman for the city of Mishawaka, Indiana, from 1948 until 1969 when he retired as a Battalion Chief and moved to Texas that same year. He grew up on a farm along the St. Joseph River, graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1942, and enlisted in the United States Navy. He served on a Destroyer Escort, DE 203, in the Pacific until the end of World War II.

Louis was working for Associates Investment Co. in Texas when he died. He is buried in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Osceola, Indiana.

Mary’s parents and older siblings came from Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany, to Posey County, Indiana, on 31 May 1853. After her father died in 1862, she and her mother went to live with an older sister and her husband in Henderson, Kentucky. Mary’s sister died in 1872. Two years later, Mary married her sister’s widower. He had a grocery store in Henderson. In 1880, they moved to a farm in White County, Illinois.

Joseph and Polly moved to Muscatine County, Iowa, in 1854, then on to Kossuth County, Iowa, in 1856. Joseph was the third white farmer to settle in what is now Sherman Township but was then Irvington Township. The first white birth in that township was their daughter Caroline. The second white death in the township was Polly.
