Joseph lived in two Indiana counties, Carroll and Parke. He emigrated from Indiana in 1833 to Michigan, and moved by 1840 to the area that became Kendall County, Illinois, in 1841.

Joseph was a cooper while living at Oswego Township, Kendall County, Illinois. After her husband’s death, Azzuba returned to Indiana, where she is found in Parke County in the 1870 and 1880 censuses along with some of their children.

In 1838 William Lewelling moved with his brothers, Henderson and John, to Henry County, Iowa.

William, a Quaker minister, was a powerful advocate of the abolition of slavery. In 1847, while lecturing either in Illinois or Indiana, “with great fervor, power, and energy” on his constant theme, William was taken ill and afterwards “took to his bed and never arose.”

At the time of this lecture, William had admonished his friends and assistant, “Thee will have to look after Cyrena and the children, Eric.” Within a short time Cyrena Lewelling became the wife of Eric Knudson. But in 1856 a fire took Cyrena’s life, and the Lewelling children became orphans.

Francis Lemming resided in both Medina and Jordan townships of Warren County, and in Shelby Township, Tippecanoe County, Indiana.

Wade Lemming left Indiana for the West in the 1880’s. In 1890 he resided in Newcastle, Wyoming Territory, and later the same year, near Cotopaxi, Colorado. He and his wife settled in Salida, Colorado, where their two children were born.

In the late 1890’s Wade was living in Denver, Colorado, where he was employed as chief lineman for the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad. But by 1905 he had returned to Indiana and was farming in Jordan Township, Warren County, where he remained until June 1918.

He left Indiana for the last time in 1918 and spent the last nineteen years of his life employed by the Christian Science organization in the Los Angeles, California, area. Mary Jane remained in Indiana and filed for divorce in 1922 on grounds of desertion. He died in Pasadena, California, and is buried in San Gabriel.

Regina moved to Chicago, Illinois, in 1890 and to Spokane, Washington, in 1896. She was a small woman who enjoyed parties and weekend poker with friends. She cared little for housework but made good biscuits and buckwheat pancakes.

Edwin Knight moved to Chicago from Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada, in 1875 and became a naturalized citizen in 1891. After settling in Spokane, Washington, in 1896, he established Diamond Drill Contracting Company with a partner and, in 1911, became president of Farmers & Mechanics Bank.

Warren Ferris Lee moved to St. Joseph County, Indiana, by 1840 and after 1840, to Fawn River, St. Joseph County, Michigan, where he purchased a small flour mill and distillery on Fawn River from a Mr. Freeman. In the 1845 census of St. Joseph County, Michigan, the Lees were living in Fawn River Township.

About 1848, Warren F. Lee served as town clerk of Fawn River Township. But by 1850 the Lee family had moved to LaGrange County, Indiana, where Warren was running an inn called the Lima House with the help of his son Charles. Then in 1858, Warren was back across the state line in Fawn River Township, serving as a delegate to the St. Joseph County, Michigan, Democratic County Convention.
