Bidda remained in Indiana as a widow after the death of her first husband and is listed in the 1880 census in Jennings Township, Crawford County, Indiana, living with her parents and twin sons, Rufus and Luther. By 1883, Bidda was living in Leavenworth, Indiana, and married Isaac at her home there before moving on to Pennsylvania where she remained until her death. Her son Rufus remained in Indiana and helped to organize the completion of one of the first roads in Crawford County, Indiana, in 1908.

David was the son of Wilson Vaughn and Nancy Bowlen. He married Amanda Sullivan who was the daughter of William Sullivan and Nancy Anna Rogers. He came to Indiana about 1849 with his mother, three brothers, and a sister. They initially settled in Brown Co., Indiana where David and his wife, Amanda, met and were married. Before moving to Lawrence County, they settled in Jackson County. David worked as a carpenter, was a member of the local Methodist church, and served as a Justice of the Peace. His obituary and death notice appeared in a number of local papers including the Bloomington Telephone and the Bedford Daily Mail, both describing David and his family as pioneers of the county. He died at the age of 85.

The family settled near Leavenworth, Crawford County, Indiana, by the 1860 census. They had come from Conneaut Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. They moved briefly to Wisconsin, then to Taylor County, Iowa, where they were for the 1870 and 1880 censuses. William and Diadema next moved to Quincy, Branch County, Michigan, then back to Iowa around 1890.
