He left Indiana in about 1855 for Jasper County, Illinois.

His obituary names four brothers at the time of his death, Merle Moore, of Kentucky, Melvin Moore of Martinsville, Marvin of Richmond, and Otis C. Moore of Bloomington. The obituary also named four sisters who all lived in Bloomington, Sylvia Linthicum, Vada May, Mary Hardin and Erva Hoy and Lillian Quackenbush of Lyons.

Clarence was born in Clear Creek Township, Monroe County, Indiana. After marriage, he and his family continued to live in Clear Creek Township until 1947 when they purchased a small farm in Indian Creek Township. He spent most of his life working in the limestone industry and retired as a foreman for Woolery Stone Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served with the Corps of Engineers in Europe. He died in 1989, in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana, and is buried there.

Zachariah was employed by the railroad for more than 50 years during which he served as a switchman, a brakeman, and a fireman. He enjoyed listening to baseball games on the radio and playing cards.

The Cooksey family came to Owen County, Indiana from Montgomery County, Virginia, in 1832. They lived at Atkinsonville, Patricksburg, and Vandalia, all in Owen County. About 1915, Samuel Cooksey and family moved to Newman, Douglas County, Illinois. In 1935, Alva Dow, Virgie, and family moved to Hoopeston, Vermilion County, Illinois.

Alva Dow was a successful farmer at Newman, Illinois, until the great depression. After moving to Hoopeston, Illinois, he developed diabetes and attendant health problems. Beginning to lose his sight, he began making brooms, a trade he had learned from his father.
