Noah came to Monroe County, Indiana in 1860. He left from Morgan County, Indiana about 1875. He changed the spelling of his surname from Bunting to Burton sometime between 1870 and 1880. He became a Methodist minister in 1884 and served many churches in southern Illinois.

John was a veteran of the War of 1812, having enlisted from Delaware County, Ohio, in Joab Norton’s Ohio Militia on 2 June 1812.

John came to Indiana in 1828 from Circleville, Pickaway County, Ohio. He lived briefly in Wayne County, Indiana, before moving to the Wabash in Parke County. He left Indiana in the 1840’s for Rockford, Winnebago County, Illinois. He later moved to Wayne, LaFayette County, Wisconsin, and Union, Floyd County, Iowa.

He then moved on to Wayne, LaFayette County, Wisconsin; Union, Floyd County, Iowa; Abilene, Kansas; and Louisburg, Miami County, Kansas; before finally ending up in Caney, Montgomery County, Kansas.

Charles was a Civil War veteran.

John James was with the 81st Regiment of Indiana Volunteers from August 1862 until November 1862, when they had to leave him behind because he was too ill to continue. He was discharged for disability in March 1863. It is not known when he moved to Iowa, but he was there in 1898 when he applied for his pension. Rebecca received a pension after John’s death.
