Rhoda came to Indiana from Garrard County, Kentucky, a few years after her marriage there. She remained until 1860 and left from Monroe Township, Jefferson County, to Davis County, Iowa, where she died. Her body was later moved to Hebron Cemetery in Madison, Indiana, for reburial near her husband.

James Marshall came to Indiana from Garrard County, Kentucky, in 1814. He was a Justice of the Peace in the late 1840’s in Jefferson County, Indiana, but left for Davis County, Iowa, in 1860.
