First Lieutenant Maurice H. Moore, flying instructor in the U.S. Air Corps during World War I, held a record for earning his wings after only six hours of flight training. In 1939 he was appointed county auditor for Santa Clara County, California, and was re-elected to two additional terms before accepting a similar position with the city of Palo Alto. He was a Mason and a past commander of the Knights Templar.

Children with Imogene Waldron:

Nathan resided in New Castle, Henry County, and Indianapolis and Southport, Marion County, Indiana. He emigrated from Indiana in 1912 to Palo Alto, Santa Clara County, California.

Nathan was a partner in the grocery firm of Fairfield and Moore in New Castle, Indiana, from 1883 to 1892. In 1892 he moved to Indianapolis, where he opened up a new grocery and meat market at I-5 Indiana Avenue. He purchased and used the first gasoline powered delivery truck to serve his customers in Indianapolis. After moving to California during the 1920’s, he owned a gold claim and prospected for gold in the California gold country.
